Inspired by the elliptical shape of the Spitfire’s wings and its extraordinarily agile profile, the IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Spitfire model pays tribute to one of the most sophisticated developments within the entire history of aviation. This men’s 41mm Spitfire watch comes equipped with an innovative soft iron inner case that protects the internal workings of the Calibre 69380 from damage associated with magnetic fields. The self winding movement, which is engineered in house at IWC Schaffhausen’s manufacturing facilities, beats relentlessly behind a sealed stainless steel caseback engraved with an image of the military aircraft upon its surface. Together with a 60 meter water resistance and a sealed front lens made from anti reflective and scratch resistant sapphire crystal, the timepiece is perfectly equipped to face the most challenging of condition whilst up in the air.
Its classic black pilot friendly dial features luminous coated Arabic numerals, legible minute markers and a set of iconic leaf shaped hands. In addition to the chronograph counters positioned at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock, the dial is also home to a day date feature located at 3 o’clock. This men’s IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Spitfire is completed on a supple brown calfskin strap adorned with contrast stitched detailing down the sides.
